Maybe it's a US approval thing, maybe it's to make sure all platforms are "equal" in terms of US release, but it sucks a bit. So, at least for that (and probably the PS2) version, it's all there on the disc, they just don't offer it as a direct option. What's odd is that for both Sonic Heroes and Shadow, if you set your Xbox to Japanese language in the console's language menu, the dialogue and text would completely change to Japanese. So, anyone with review copies, or who've just gotten their copy early, does it include an option to change the voices to Japanese, or is it stuck on English only? For the first time use full-motion body control to twist and turn your way through a range of visually stunning courses.

Time to import, right?īut Sonic Riders, to my understanding, is being done by a different dev group (even though it's tagged "Sonic Team"), not the same ones who handled Heroes/Shadow/etc.
But Sonic Heroes lacked it, as did Shadow (which also introduced them bringing over the 4Kids cartoon cast to voice the characters, firing the original Adventure cast), and now Sonic Riders is set for release, and based on the movies I've watched, the Japanese voicework is fine, the US voicework is quite painful. I know, I know, many of you don't give a damn about the new game (although if the secret character rumors I've heard are true, a few are going to be screaming bloody murder), you don't have to reemphasize that in this topic, I'm just asking a question I haven't seen the answer to yet.Īnyway, Sonic Adventure, SA2, SA2B and I think SADX all included that friendly little "Language Change" option.
